Chapter 289 analysis: The Seed of Evolution
Medium analysis and post, an explanation of what I believe the final phase of the match is leading up to.
A Genius way of evolution
Ever since the teamup of Isagi x Kaiser (pre-289), it's forced P.X.G to play on Bastard's home turf. A field dominated by logic and one ruled by a talented learner's thinkings. As we saw in chapter 287, trying to play by your opponent's strongest weapon (logic) won't yield you any results even if it's a team up with two genius monsters (Shidou x Rin). So, how can P.X.G turn the tides on Bastard Munchen and revert the momentum back to their side?
The answer is pretty simple and that's for a genius to follow that sense of pleasure that leads to their best performance. Previously, Rin's best performance was reached by solely focusing on destroying Isagi which led to him scoring that super goal in 275. But with Isagi and Kaiser's teamup they've been able to exploit that fact to blindsight him multiple times.
So, now the pleasure that's leading Rin to his best performance isn't simply Isagi alone, but the relationship between Isagi x Kaiser. He's now learning to heighten his focus on which task he needs to hone into in order to reach his best while satisfying his ego. It's a mixture of playing smart while playing to his best strengths, leading him to use his explosive reflexes (and PE) to quickly preventing a goal from being scored.
I imagine we'll now witness Rin finding new ways on offense to satisfy his ego of destruction while utilizing PE.
With Rin now witnessing an unknown evolution, how will B.M come back from this? Well the answer lies in them finding an unpredictable factor of their own.
The discovery of Ness's talent
Ness is a character whose upbringing caused him to be shun by his family and peers alike in the football scene. But due to Kaiser discovering him, Ness found a way to utilize his talent for Kaiser and unlocked a new dream where he lived devotedly for him. But due to that mindset being engraved in him, it's caused his talent to rot in the current match as that current mentality isn't enough to satisfy anyone on the field. And now once again, we're seeing Ness being shunned by everyone on the field to the point where his talent is considered dead.
But what one person might consider trash, might actually be a diamond in the rough waiting to be found and explained to the world. And that's where the whole talented learner and Genius philosophy is starting to build up to. What Ness needs is someone on the field who can understand him and express his talent to the rest of the world. And I believe the story is building up to that revelation of Isagi utilizing his brain to express Ness's talent to the rest of the world.
Ness will become the seed of irrationality that B.M needs to conquer P.X.G.
The Final Goal to crown a Hero
I believe there are three conditions to fully score this final goal, the first condition has already been partly met.
1) A unification of two sides
The first condition was to settle the discourse within Bastard Munchen. Which was to have the two kings of B.M put aside their differences and focus on the task at hand. With Isagi and Kaiser focusing purely on logic, it's allowed the rest of the team to work with either Isagi or Kaiser without any sort of bias. Which allows Hiori to work with Kaiser in the future and potentially allowing Ness to work with Isagi in the future (as seen in reason 2).
2). Ness's resurrection
The 2nd objective that needs to be cleared as I've mentioned before is unleashing Ness's talent on the field. I believe Isagi will likely be the key to this, and he'll be the one to express Ness's talent. And this time we'll actually see a true cooperation between Isagi x Ness that the rest of the field won't be able to predict. A type of chaotic factor that both Isagi and Kaiser can utilize.
3). An evolution of Isagi's goal scoring formula
The final piece for this last goal by Isagi is an evolution of his current goal scoring formula. Something that nobody on the field will be able to stop once the pieces are in place. As we've seen before, other talented learners are able to read him. Which is why the need of a chaotic factor (Ness) is extremely important, but he also needs a new type of weapon that makes his shot unreadable.
I believe it's time for Isagi to finally utilize predator eye in his goal scoring formula in order to bypass the goalkeepers and defenders in front of him. When it comes to direct shots, they're quite literally direct and only moves forwards. But what Isagi needs to add in his formula is the ability to curve his direct shots. Allowing him to change the direction of the ball and making his shots harder to read and stop. And I believe that's when predator eye will be fully implemented.
Anyway, that's the end of this analysis/theory. Let me know your thoughts! If this all comes true, then Isagi will 100% get that number 1 spot in the NEL. It's time to witness the rise of a new Hero
