What am I doing wrong?? (Hank winding gone wrong).

Malabrigo Rios…SO gorgeous…but WHY IS IT LIKE THIS?!

I watched multiple video tutorials on unwinding hanks. I bought an umbrella swift. I placed my Hank on the swift prior to cutting any of the ties. And no matter which end of the yarn tail I start with it is just…weaved upon itself.

I have FIVE more hanks of this. My cheap acrylic yarn would never. 😂😭😭😭

What did I do wrong? 🥹
