Any WFH Millennials feel like you used to accomplish more in the “before time”?
Hello All,
So, like most folks, I began working remotely in March of 2020. I was able to utilize a workplace accommodation to get it extended a bit longer, but eventually made the return to hybrid (2-3 days in the office) in the Fall of 2023, and have been in this routine since.
The other day, I was having a discussion with friends on the advantages of WFH: - Time saved commuting to and from work. - The ability to run errands on your lunch/free time you would normally run after when it is typically busier. - The ability to do chores such as folding laundry, etc, during your down time. - Spending more time with family, pets, etc.
But despite saving time on all of these items, and having that extra time to use at your disposal after work, I sometimes feel like I am not accomplishing that much more.
Sometimes when I sit in the office on a slow day for 8 hours, I think to myself and it is literally hard to imagine how any of us did that all day for 5 days a week. Let alone accomplish much after work, especially in times like now where it is pitch black by 4:30pm.
So, just curious if anybody else feels the same. If so, what have you done to combat that feeling?
