Is the SteamDeck better then the Nintendo Switch

EDIT:Thanks for all yours answers but that made me realise that I've wrote my question really badly, my main concern is to know if SteamDeck can emulate switch games good enough to make it atleast as enjoyable as on a switch.

Original: I'm actually highly considering buying a portable console but I'm currently doubting about wich console should I choose between the SteamDeck and the nintendo switch.

What I want from this console is mainly play nintendo games, and I evantually plan to use the SteamDeck principally as an emulator, I will also play to game that aren't available on Nintendo Switch but it's not the first goal and it should not be consider as a factor of decision.

Main raison that make me wanna choose a SteamDeck even if plan on playing Switch games is the prices, they are a lot of games I wanna play and even if the Steam Deck is more expensive, on the long term it will be more benefit.

The thing that make me hesitate is the quality of animation. Some games that I plan to download are: Super Mario Odyssey, Mario kart 8 deluxe, Zelda BOTW & TOTK, animal crossing, zelda links awakening and the other, super mario bros wonder, pokemon arceus, etc...

The problem is that I watched some clips of this games on a SteamDeck and for example, on Super Mario Odyssey I've seen some good clips, but I have also seen some where the game was way slower than intended and for TOTK i've seen clips and the game look unplayable. And some comments on Youtube seem to have some issues with their games too.

So my question is what experience do you have with switch emulation on SteamDeck in general and with thoose particulars games.
