Unpopular opinion: not everything is supposed to be easy

Preface: I’m not talking about situations where rural players who can’t get a group together can’t do the event. This is about people who can’t be bothered to put in any effort on max battles and then expect to get the legendaries.

Everyone is shitting on the Max Monday Articuno event and some of the frustration is misplaced. For instance:

“Do not bother with Articuno raids

Another waste of time delivered to us by Niantic, the number of people and resources required to even be competitive in these raids is insanity. Seriously fuck these people at this point.”

The number of people… 3 others?

The resources… a couple metagross or cinderace that have been boosted beyond the basic cp? (Didn’t even need a toxtricity, I know those were hard to get)

Max Pokémon have been out since September and we’ve now got people that have refused to participate in the free tier 1 max battles complaining that they can’t do an Articuno.

Hate to break it to you, but not everything is supposed to be easy. Not everything is supposed to be handed to you, and not everything can be done at the same time. If Pokémon Go raids and max battles were just about showing up and entering the lobby without doing anything, the game would be even more trash than it is.

I caught three Articuno last night just playing with a few people who also had some metagrosses or cinderaces that had been powered up and maybe had a max move increased or taught (like a guard or heal). It takes a few weeks max to get to that point. These Pokémon function completely normally outside of max battles too. Max Beldum and Scorbunny have been in the game since September, and you get the energy needed to do like three of these a day just by going about your day (walking) and checking the odd power spot

Sometimes, this subreddit feels like it’s full of people who’d rather complain for karma than actually work at something. There are plenty of events that are fucked up and way too difficult to do (such as gigantamax). But max Articuno was fair if you did max battles even just a few times a week since September. Just my opinion
