Rating EVERY Rex Song (pt 3) Who Cares?

I'm going to go through each Rex album (and then singles and features after) and rank them on a scale of 1-10. Consider a 6 to be the average Rex song, not the average song in general. Essentially, I am grading these on a curve so there can be more variation in my rankings. Once I have done every album and song, I will make a full list ranking everything.

SONGS

KEEP IT UP - 8.5/10

  • Classic Rex banger. I love his high-energy music, and well, this is very high-energy. Sets a really strong tone for the album going forward. The opening violin samples also slaps, really well done with the mixing. My favorite on this album

OPEN A WINDOW - 7/10

  • YES TYLER THE CREATOR! His verse on this song is so freaking good. Makes me wish they collaborated more, other than just three songs. Other than the verse, the rest of the song is okay. Not bad or anything, but in comparison to the rest of the album, okay.

WORTH IT - 6/10

  • Just another average Rex song, which isn't bad. The opening was great, I like his really long instrumental bits. Other than that, this song is easily forgetable.

AMAZING - 8/10

  • Take me back to when this song was trending. It's such a wholesome song and an absolute banger. This is one of the strongest on the album, right behind KEEP IT UP.

ONE IN A MILLION - 7.5/10

  • Another strong song on this album. Gives me very similar vibes to AMAZING. Good stretch of love songs between these two. Fun fact: in the music video, for a few frames you can see one of the posters for The Alexander Technique (see 1:55)

IF YOU WANT IT - 5/10

  • Just below the average Rex song (it has to happen sometimes). This song always felt a little weird. When I think about this song, I think of him just saying "girl, if you want it" over and over again.

7AM - 8/10

  • This is one of my underrated song picks. Great music. In terms of the deepness of the lyrics, this is one of the most on this album. I like this one.

THE SHADE - 8.5/10

  • This song gives KEEP IT UP a fight. It's right there behind it. I remember when the sped up version of this song was trending. Great vibes overall.

MAKING TIME - 7/10

  • Another good song. I thought that the music video/animation for this song was really cute too. Very average for this album.

SHOOT ME DOWN - 6/10

  • This is one of the most average Rex songs that he has made. Not a bad songs by any measurement though.

WHO CARES? - 7.5/10

  • I wish he made more music like this. I really like what he does with his vocals in songs like these. This song is a great ending for a strong album.

VERDICT

7/10 - This music is slightly worse than Pony, but still very strong. It was a great album for what it is, but fails to get as deep lyrically as the previous. Overall, great album.

Remember, this grading is on a curve. 6/10 = average Rex song.
