Struggling with U-turns

Hey everyone, I need some help. I've been practicing doing tight U-turns (sub 20ft) but I keep encountering 2 big problems. Also just for reference this is on an 06 Suzuki Burgman 400.

First, I struggle to actually counter balance while keeping the bars at full lock. I basically run out of arm length just fully locking the steering to the left. So trying to lean the bars over while keeping my body straight or leaning away from the turn, I just can't. My short arms can't do all that reaching. The best I can do is scooch up really far on the seat which comes with its own issues.

Second, I can't seem to consistently get the clutch to feather. Since like most scooters I don't have a manual clutch, I constantly try to keep the rpm's around 3k where the clutch starts to grab. But CVT's being what they are it can sometimes lurch doing that, causing the bike to become unstable during the slow U-turn. I tried applying some rear brake but it's really difficult to be gentle with it when I'm also struggling with reaching the bars comfortably.

So if anyone can pitch in that'd be great. I really wish the burgman didn't have such wide beachbars. Other than that I guess the rest is a skill issue.
