Concepts like length don't physically exist. They're mental constructs. So even though we can agree on units, the idea of measuring length itself is a concept we created. If humans didn't exist, would length still exist? Well, the physical reality would, but the measurement and units wouldn't. So measurements are tools we use to describe reality, not reality itself. But then there's the question of whether the underlying reality is objective. Even if our measurements are tools, do they approximate an objective truth? Like, something has a certain length regardless of how we measure it. But how do we know? If every measurement is through our subjective tools, we can't access the objective truth. But then, does that mean there's no objective reality? Or just that our access to it is mediated through subjective tools?
