I feel like the (relatively) new ranged items are mostly a miss.
I swear, 90% of the new ranged items barely do anything to enhance the character's ranged capabilities, and the other 10% are super situational. The vast majority of my experience with these new items is getting them after a battle/fusion and being pissed off because they suck and I wanted other items instead.
Most of the time characters' ranged attacks aren't even worth buffing in the first place. Outside of some select Artillery Legendary Lords and the Empire Engineer ranged characters suck at dishing any damage from range. They are usually just there to buff the army and are much better off with melee focused items to become more survivable. Even the ones that are decent barely benefit from these items because most of them are so low impact.
The amount also feels completely disproportional. I played a Clan Eshin campaign where only one Lord type (the Master Assassin) out of the entirety of the Skaven Lords and Heroes roster has a ranged attack, and it is a secondary attack rather than their main focus. Despite this I kept getting a bunch of these items even though the vast majority of my characters can't benefit from them and the ones that do are way better off with melee focused items.
I just feel like this item update was a big miss from CA. I hope they go back and rebalance the items as well as adjust their drop chance for factions with limited ranged characters.
